Born and raised in Chicago, Cliff Haka received his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University, masters degrees in history and library science from the University of Illinois and MBA from the University of Kansas. Prior to coming to MSU, he held positions at the Illinois State Historical Library and the University of Kansas. Cliff has served on the boards of the Center for Research Libraries, the Michigan State Library, the Midwest Center for Library Services, and the Michigan Library Association. Cliff joined the staff of the MSU Libraries in 1982 and was appointed director of libraries in 1997.
