Carol Feltes

Rockefeller University
University Librarian

Carol Feltes was destined for a life in books. She got her first library card at the Kalamazoo public library bookmobile at age 4 and grew up in book oriented family as a fanatic reader and a book collector. She and her big brother used to hoard their pennies and pool them to go together to buy the next adventure in whatever their current series of choice was..... The Boxcar Children....The Swallows and the Amazons.....The Freddie the Pig books or an all time favorite: the "Wrinkle in Time" books. Naturally she began working at the library at 16 and went to library school as soon as she finished her undergrad degree. She has been working in libraries for 45 years, 37 of them as a professional librarian. Today she holds the post of University Librarian at Rockefeller University in New York City.
