Nancy Rosenwald

Nancy Rosenwald received her bachelor’s degree in History from Furman University, and a M.A.in Asian History from Wake Forest University. At Wake Forest, she assisted the Curator of Rare Books at the Z. Smith Reynolds Library and developed an interest in special collections that led her to Terry Belanger’s Rare Book program at Columbia University.

Since receiving her library degree, Ms. Rosenwald has directed academic, medical, public and government libraries, and managed independent bookstores. She has also instructed History and English courses, and developed a curriculum for research and writing instruction. While working in the public setting as Library Director, Ms. Rosenwald’s library was chosen Best Small Library in American by Library Journal and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She is a frequent presenter at conferences where she discusses issues of advocacy for small and rural libraries.

She is the newly appointed Director of the Wessels Library at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina.
